No visitors. No nights spent away from the apartment. No disturbing the other residents, all of whom are rich or famous or both. These are the only rules for Jules Larsen's new job as an apartment sitter at the Bartholomew, one of Manhattan's most high-profile and mysterious buildings. Recently heartbroken and just plain broke, Jules is taken in by the splendor of her surroundings and accepts the terms, ready to leave her past life behind.

As she gets to know the residents and staff of the Bartholomew, Jules finds herself drawn to fellow apartment sitter Ingrid, who comfortingly, disturbingly reminds her of the sister she lost eight years ago. When Ingrid confides that the Bartholomew is not what it seems and the dark history hidden beneath its gleaming facade is starting to frighten her, Jules brushes it off as a harmless ghost story . . . until the next day, when Ingrid disappears.

Searching for the truth about Ingrid's disappearance, Jules digs deeper into the Bartholomew's dark past and into the secrets kept within its walls. Her discovery that Ingrid is not the first apartment sitter to go missing at the Bartholomew pits Jules against the clock as she races to unmask a killer, expose the building's hidden past, and escape the Bartholomew before her temporary status becomes permanent.
Review:

I absolutely love everything Riley Sager touches. Seriously, both of his previous books were so entertaining and Lock Every Door is his best book yet! I loved it from the first page to the very last. The setting was eerie and captivating, and the characters had me drawn in instantly. I was really hoping Sager's novels would continue to get better and better... and so far he has not disappointed me. Lock Every Door is filled with suspense and intrigue from the first page to the very last sentence. I wanted to read it all in one sitting!

I would highly recommend this read if you are a fan of suspense novels or if you've read either of Sager's previous novels. I don't give out five stars very frequently, but this novel definitely deserved it. Thank you to NetGalley and Dutton for sending this novel in exchange for an honest review.
what New York City cop Barry Sutton is learning as he investigates the
devastating phenomenon the media has dubbed False Memory Syndrome—a
mysterious affliction that drives its victims mad with memories of a
life they never lived.

Neuroscientist Helena Smith already
understands the power of memory. It’s why she’s dedicated her life to
creating a technology that will let us preserve our most precious
moments of our pasts. If she succeeds, anyone will be able to
re-experience a first kiss, the birth of a child, the final moment with a
dying parent.

As Barry searches for the truth, he comes
face-to-face with an opponent more terrifying than any disease—a force
that attacks not just our minds but the very fabric of the past. And as
its effects begin to unmake the world as we know it, only he and Helena,
working together, will stand a chance at defeating it.

But how can they make a stand when reality itself is shifting and crumbling all around them?

I absolutely loved Dark Matter, so this was definitely at the top of my list this summer! As in Dark Matter, there is a time travel/memory component to Recursion and it is super twisty and mind bending. I had to re-read a couple of pages and go back to a chapter or two to make sure I was catching everything, but it was definitely worth it! I love the mind games that Crouch puts his readers through and it makes for an incredible reading experience.

Safe from her murderous father in the dazzling capital of Lightspire, she lives a life of luxury under the protection of the Volaris King, alongside her boyfriend Zell and best friend, Princess Lyriana.

So why isn’t she happy? Maybe it’s the whispers and stares that follow her wherever she goes, as the daughter of the traitor waging war against Lightspire. Or maybe it’s the memories of her beloved brother, Jax, who lies cold in his grave even as she tries to settle into a life in the city's prestigious University.

Then, Tilla stumbles upon the body of a classmate, a friend. The authorities are quick to rule it a suicide and sweep it under the rug, but when Tilla herself is attacked by a mysterious man with terrifying powers, she’s convinced of a conspiracy. Her friends beg her to stay silent; what she's suggesting is impossible... and treasonous.

But Tilla can't, won't, let it go. And the deeper she digs, the more questions she uncovers. How is the West beating the supposedly invincible Lightspire Mages in battle? Is it connected to the shadowy cult wreaking havoc in Lightspire? Nothing is as it seems in the glorious capital, and Tilla’s presence might just be the spark that sets the Kingdom aflame.
Review:

I was a huge fan of the first novel in this series, so I was really looking forward to reading City of Bastards. All of my favorite characters were back, but this time we were transported to a new world in the City of Lightspire. I loved the world building in this novel and could picture the city perfectly. It was such a fun setting and it made me really wish I was in the world with the characters. I really enjoyed Tilla's character in this novel and her always spunky attitude was back, but it was a little dampened by trying to fit into a new city. That added an extra level to her character and I enjoyed the added complexity.

This novel was a lot of fun, fast paced, and full of twists and turns. I would highly recommend reading this novel if you enjoyed the first in the series or if you enjoy YA Fantasy novels. I would definitely read the first novel prior to picking this one up because you may be a little lost if you don't read it first. Thank you to NetGalley and Disney-Hyperion for sending this novel in exchange for an honest review.
She falls too hard and too fast, always choosing the wrong men. Devastated by the end of her last relationship, she fled her Wall Street job and New York City apartment for her sister’s home in the Connecticut suburb where they both grew up. Though still haunted by the tragedy that’s defined her entire life, Laura is determined to take one more chance on love with a man she’s met on an Internet dating site.

Rosie Ferro has spent most of her life worrying about her troubled sister. Fearless but fragile, Laura has always walked an emotional tightrope, and Rosie has always been there to catch her. This was definitely an interesting read and not exactly what I was expecting! The whole time I was really questioning Laura because she and Rosie had such different personalities and I found her to be a bit of an unreliable narrator. But that ending... I kind of saw it coming but then again... I don't know if I did. I was caught off guard for sure, but maybe not so surprised? Does that make sense? The story was interesting although I think it was a little basic and I don't know that it will be that memorable.
The Night Before was an entertaining read that kept me hooked while reading, but I don't know if it one that I will continue to think about. I would recommend it as a fun and light suspense novel - perfect for a weekend summer read, but I don't think it is one that would be at the top of my must read list. It was definitely entertaining and fun though so check it out! Thank you to NetGalley and St. Martin's Press for sending this novel in exchange for an honest review.
Welcome to the Kingdom... where 'Happily Ever After' isn't just a promise, but a rule.
Glimmering like a jewel behind its gateway, The Kingdom(TM) is an immersive fantasy theme park where guests soar on virtual dragons, castles loom like giants, and bioengineered species--formerly extinct--roam free.

Ana is one of seven Fantasists, beautiful "princesses" engineered to make dreams come true. When she meets park employee Owen, Ana begins to experience emotions beyond her programming including, for the first time... love.
But the fairytale becomes a nightmare when Ana is accused of murdering Owen, igniting the trial of the century. Through courtroom testimony, interviews, and Ana's memories of Owen, emerges a tale of love, lies, and cruelty--and what it truly means to be human.
Disney World meets WestWorld. That's all I could think in this novel. I absolutely loved the worldbuilding and I could picture every scene and every exhibit perfectly as if I was there in the room. The story was absolutely fascinating, fast paced and I loved that I didn't know what would happen next. The only negative thing I could find about this novel was that it was just a little too short and rushed. I wish there was a little more buildup. Other than that, it was an amazing read!
I would highly recommend this novel to readers who enjoy YA fantasy. It was a lot of fun and kept me on my toes from the very first page to the last. I loved the futuristic feel and it made me really think about what is morally right when it comes to artificial intelligence in the future. In this suspenseful and heart-pounding novel from New York Times bestselling author Lucinda Riley, an ambitious young journalist unravels a dangerous mystery that threatens to devastate the British monarchy.
Keeping secrets is a dangerous game.

When Sir James Harrison, one the greatest actors of his generation, passes away at the age of ninety-five, he leaves behind not just a heartbroken family but also a secret so shocking, it could rock the English establishment to its core.

Joanna Haslam, an up-and-coming reporter, is assigned to cover the legendary actor’s funeral, attended by glitzy celebrities of every background. But Joanna stumbles on something dark beneath the glamour: the mention of a letter James Harrison has left behind—the contents of which many have been desperate to keep concealed for over seventy years. As she peels back the veil of lies that has shrouded the secret, she realizes that she’s close to uncovering something deadly serious—and the royal family may be implicated. Before long, someone is on her tracks, attempting to prevent her from discovering the truth. And they’ll stop at nothing to reach the letter before she does.

Full of salacious scandal, shocking twists, and captivating romance, and written in Lucinda Riley’s signature “vividly drawn and lushly atmospheric” (RT Book Reviews) prose, The Royal Secret is “a full-throttle escapist adventure” (Lancashire Evening Post).

This novel started out with a bang. I loved how there was a mixture of romance, mystery, and history. I really liked the first half of the book, but I had a little difficulty following the story as it went on. There were a lot of portions where the characters would imply certain things instead of saying them outright, and that became a little confusing as the book went on. I really enjoyed the novel, but it was a little hard to follow at times.

The characters were a lot of fun and I really enjoyed getting to know each of their pasts and some of the secrets they held. This novel was entertaining and kept me on my toes, but it was a tiny bit too long and confusing at times. I would still highly recommend this novel to readers who enjoy romantic suspense novels.

Ok, WOW. This was totally not what I was expecting... in a really good way. I thought this was just going to be another YA fantasy retelling that was just like every other book I've read. BUT IT WASN'T AT ALL. It starts out a little innocent and juvenile, but it quickly turns into an amazing drama filled and entertaining read. I absolutely loooooved Branwen's character and Essie, eh I could take her or leave her. She was pretty annoying to be honest, but that's how her character is supposed to seem so, I'll let that one slide. Tristan was also such an interesting character and he always gave me that "too good to be true" feeling. I let you find out if that feeling was accurate or not!

All in all, Sweet Black Waves was a wonderful surprise and I can't wait to read book two in this series. I would highly recommend this novel to readers who love YA retellings and YA fantasy. <span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">Review:
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">You know that feeling when your mind wanders and you have crazy ridiculous thoughts, but you remind yourself, "Oh, those are just thoughts. I would never do that"? Well... all of those crazy thoughts come out in this book. Tessa finds out her husband is cheating on her so she decides to harness those evil thoughts and unleash them on the mistress. Yall, this book is so crazy and psychotic but so amazing. I literally felt like it was every girls worst nightmare, but also exactly what they would be wishing they could do if they were in the same circumstances.
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">This novel was addicting, entertaining, and flat out crazy. I think I loved it the most because it is exactly what every girl would fantasize about doing if her husband ever cheated on them. Maybe I wouldn't actually do what Tessa did... but I'd be lying if I said I wouldn't at least think about it! This was a great read and I would highly recommend it to readers who enjoy suspense novels. Thank you to Gallery and NetGalley for sending a copy in exchange for an honest review.

I didn't really know what to expect from this novel, but I was pleasantly surprised with a fun and entertaining read. It wasn't exactly as suspense filled as I was hoping, and most of the action didn't really happen until the very end. BUT, it still held my attention and had me flipping pages late into the night. The characters were interesting and I loved the family dynamic between Paige and her mother as well as Paige and her cousin. I'm always a fan of family drama (in books, not real life)!

This novel was a lot of fun and I would highly recommend it to readers who enjoy a light suspense novel filled with high strung family dysfunction. It was entertaining to read and I think readers of all genres will enjoy this novel. Thank you to NetGalley and Ballantine Books for sending this novel in exchange for an honest review.

Drue Campbell’s life is adrift. Out of a job and down on her luck, life doesn’t seem to be getting any better when her estranged father, Brice Campbell, a flamboyant personal injury attorney, shows up at her mother’s funeral after a twenty-year absence. Worse, he’s remarried – to Drue’s eighth grade frenemy, Wendy, now his office manager. And they’re offering her a job.

It seems like the job from hell, but the offer is sweetened by the news of her inheritance – her grandparents’ beach bungalow in the sleepy town of Sunset Beach, a charming but storm-damaged eyesore now surrounded by waterfront McMansions.

With no other prospects, Drue begrudgingly joins the firm, spending her days screening out the grifters whose phone calls flood the law office. Working with Wendy is no picnic either. But when a suspicious death at an exclusive beach resort nearby exposes possible corruption at her father’s firm, she goes from unwilling cubicle rat to unwitting investigator, and is drawn into a case that may – or may not – involve her father. With an office romance building, a decades-old missing persons case re-opened, and a cottage in rehab, one thing is for sure at Sunset Beach: there’s a storm on the horizon.

Sunset Beach is a compelling ride, full of Mary Kay Andrews' signature wit, heart, and charm.
As always, Mary Kay Andrews grabbed my attention on the first page and held it until the very last page. I don't know how she does it time after time, but she creates the most addicting and entertaining stories every summer. I loved Drue's character and really enjoyed her spunk and attitude in this novel. The other characters were a lot of fun as well and I loved everything they contributed to the story.
Khai Diep has no feelings. Well, he feels irritation when people move his things or contentment when ledgers balance down to the penny, but not big, important emotions—like grief. And love. He thinks he’s defective. His family knows better—that his autism means he just processes emotions differently. When he steadfastly avoids relationships, his mother takes matters into her own hands and returns to Vietnam to find him the perfect bride.

As a mixed-race girl living in the slums of Ho Chi Minh City, Esme Tran has always felt out of place. When the opportunity arises to come to America and meet a potential husband, she can’t turn it down, thinking this could be the break her family needs. Seducing Khai, however, doesn’t go as planned. Esme’s lessons in love seem to be working…but only on herself. She’s hopelessly smitten with a man who’s convinced he can never return her affection.

With Esme’s time in the United States dwindling, Khai is forced to understand he’s been wrong all along. And there’s more than one way to love.
I have been looking forward to Hoang's next book since the second I finished reading The Kiss Quotient and she did not disappoint me with The Bride Test! The characters were a lot of fun and I loved learning about the differences in Vietnam and America. This novel was fast paced and constantly left me hanging at the end of each chapter. The characters were loveable and I kept finding myself thinking of them as friends instead of characters on a page.

The Bride Test was un-put-downable and I ate up every last word. It was entertaining, thought provoking, and even had me feeling pretty emotional a time or two! I would highly recommend this novel to readers who loved The Kiss Quotient and readers who enjoy a good romantic comedy/contemporary read. It was so much fun!

This was my first time reading a novel by J.A. Jance and I absolutely loved her writing style. This novel was the 14th in the Ali Reynolds series, but I didn't feel like I was missing things by not reading the previous novels. Although it did make me want to go back and start from the beginning! The storyline was so intense and believable that it had me seriously wondering about whether or not that same story has happened to someone I know. I think it's believability is what made this story so great.

The characters were all very interesting and I loved how they each played such a vital role in the story playing out just right. I felt really connected to Ali and was cheering for her the whole time. I absolutely loved this story and enjoyed being entertained by Jance's fast paced and engaging writing style. I would definitely recommend this novel to readers who enjoy crime and suspense novels. Thank you to Gallery and NetGalley for the opportunity to read this novel in exchange for an honest review.
With Alexa's wedding rapidly approaching, Maddie and Theo both share bridal party responsibilities that require more interaction with each other than they're comfortable with. There were definitely multiple times where I was blushing extremely hard! BUT, I absolutely loved this novel and I feel like I want to read it again because I flew through it so quickly.
TWP is definitely one of my favorite contemporary romance reads so far this year and it has me aching to read more from Jasmine Guillory! I think I may have to go back and read some of her early books to hold me over until she has another book come out. I would highly recommend this novel to readers who enjoy contemporary romance! I loved every second of it and can't wait for you all to read it in July! Thank you to Netgalley and Berkley for sending this novel in exchange for an honest review.

I think I feel the same way about this novel as I did the first in this sequel... slightly indifferent. There were lots of things to like, and then there were also a lot of things that I felt were probably not great for younger girls to read. I thought Virginia was a tough and interesting girl, but I also felt like there were times that she needed to stick up for herself and be a little more responsible for her choices. I thought she was a great character with a big heart, but I just kept hoping she would stand up for herself to her family a little more.

All in all, it was a cute read. It was entertaining and kept me flipping pages until the end, but I honestly just kept feeling really uncomfortable and I felt sorry for all of the characters in the book. It was just a little sad for me and not my favorite read. Thank you to Bloomsbury Children's Books and NetGalley for sharing this novel in exchange for an honest review.
Synopsis:

Life is a mixed bag for Piper Calloway.

On the one hand, she’s a twenty-nine-year-old VP at her dad’s multibillion-dollar real estate development firm, and living the high single life with her two best friends in a swanky downtown penthouse. On the other hand, she’s considered a pair of sexy legs in a male-dominated world and constantly has to prove her worth. Plus, she’s stuck seeing her narcissistic ex-fiancé—a fellow VP—on the other side of her glass office wall every day.

Things get exponentially more complicated for Piper when she runs into Kyle Miller—the handsome new security guard at Calloway Group Industries, and coincidentally the first love of her life.

The guy she hasn’t seen or heard from since they were summer camp counsellors together. The guy from the wrong side of the tracks. The guy who apparently doesn’t even remember her name.

Piper may be a high-powered businesswoman now, but she soon realizes that her schoolgirl crush is not only alive but stronger than ever, and crippling her concentration. What’s more, despite Kyle’s distant attitude, she’s convinced their reunion isn’t at all coincidental, and that his feelings for her still run deep. And she’s determined to make him admit to them, no matter the consequences.

This book brought back so many nostalgic camp memories for me and I loved every second of it. The way the story jumps back and forth between past and present added extra suspense to the novel and the characters were delectable. I absolutely loved everything about Say You Love Me and now I kind of want to read it again! Attractive and successful girl falls in love with boy from the wrong side of the tracks... yep-- count me in!

I don't think I've read a single book from K.A. Tucker yet that I haven't loved and Say You Love Me was no exception to that rule. I loved this novel from start to finish and couldn't put it down. I would highly recommend it if you love some feel good romance! I can't wait for you guys to pick this one up!

Synopsis:

Everyone knows Daisy Jones & The Six, but nobody knows the reason behind their split at the absolute height of their popularity . . . until now.

Daisy is a girl coming of age in L.A. in the late sixties, sneaking into clubs on the Sunset Strip, sleeping with rock stars, and dreaming of singing at the Whisky a Go Go. The sex and drugs are thrilling, but it’s the rock and roll she loves most. By the time she’s twenty, her voice is getting noticed, and she has the kind of heedless beauty that makes people do crazy things.

Also getting noticed is The Six, a band led by the brooding Billy Dunne. On the eve of their first tour, his girlfriend Camila finds out she’s pregnant, and with the pressure of impending fatherhood and fame, Billy goes a little wild on the road.

Daisy and Billy cross paths when a producer realizes that the key to supercharged success is to put the two together. What happens next will become the stuff of legend.

The making of that legend is chronicled in this riveting and unforgettable novel, written as an oral history of one of the biggest bands of the seventies. Taylor Jenkins Reid is a talented writer who takes her work to a new level with Daisy Jones & The Six, brilliantly capturing a place and time in an utterly distinctive voice.

Review:

From the first page to the very last, this book had me hooked and dying for more. I loved the setting and the unique writing style. I thoroughly enjoyed the interview concept and I think it really added a lot to the novel. I loved how real the characters seemed because they were so eloquently placed into real life settings with real bands and other famous people. There were multiple times that I had to remind myself that The Six were not actually a real band.

This novel is definitely a knock out win for Taylor Jenkins Reid and I would highly recommend it for book clubs or a good summer read. It will have you singing rock'n roll and wishing you were born in a different era. For seven men and women in their twenties, some Amish, some Mennonite, and some English, each of whom had once counted his or herself as one of Andy’s best friends, it had been extremely painful.

And, maybe, a source of guilt.

Years have passed since they’d all been together last. Some of them got into trouble. A couple got into arguments. Eventually they all drifted apart. But even though none of them really saw each other anymore, there was a steadfast certainty that they’d always have each other’s backs—even when no one else did. Their bond was that strong…until Andy did the unthinkable.

Now the seven remaining friends, still reeling from Andy’s death, have vowed to look after each other again. As far as they’re concerned, it doesn’t matter that they’re now in their twenties and have drifted far apart. They need to connect again…for Andy.

With her signature “taut writing” (RT Book Reviews), Shelley Shepard Gray delivers a lyrical and heartfelt tale of friendship and forgiveness.

This was definitely a new genre for me. Contemporary women's fiction but with a strong Amish background. It was interesting and entertaining, but I don't know if it was for me. The love stories were really sweet and I think the main theme of the story was great, but I just couldn't find a connection with the characters. I felt like they weren't really relatable for me and that made the novel fall a little flat.

It was a quick and easy read and it kept me entertained. I would recommend this novel to readers who are interested in a unique women's fiction read. I think you have to be a little open minded for this novel, and it just wasn't my cup of tea. Review:

Well that was an interesting read. I have to admit, it wasn't my favorite from Kubica. I absolutely loved the first half of this novel, but Kubica slowly started to lose me a little more and more as the chapters went on. I thought the beginning of the novel was great and really intriguing how it would go back and forth between past and present, but the story really lost its steam around the halfway point.

Honestly, this book was pretty entertaining, I was just disappointed by the ending. I thought it seemed like Kubica put so much work into the story and then got tired at the end and just threw something together for the ending. It just didn't feel right for the novel and I hate that such a great story had such a weak finish. I hate to admit it, but I probably wouldn't recommend this read to friends. Thank you to NetGalley for sending this novel in exchange for an honest review.
What an amazing read! I absolutely loved the premise of this story and the characters really pulled me in from the very beginning. I loved how unique the plot was and I couldn't put the book down. The setting was magical and I could picture every scene because the writing style was eloquent and very descriptive. There honestly wasn't anything about this novel that I didn't enjoy!
All in all, it was fast paced, entertaining, and full of unique and fun characters. All We Ever Wanted was the perfect summer time beach read. It was fast paced, entertaining, and filled with dramatic flair. All of the things you want when baking in the sun on the beach! There wasn't anything super special about this novel, and I don't particularly think it was Giffin's best, however there wasn't really anything wrong with it either. It was just a simple and entertaining novel.
All in all, there's not too much to say about this book.

This was the first novel I've picked up from Karen Rose and it was very entertaining. The twisted storyline kept me on my toes, and I always enjoy a good badass female lead character. Daisy was really fun and I loved following her through the ups and downs of the novel. I also loved the mix of romance in the novel as well.

The writing was a little cheesy for me at times, but I was able to get over that because there was so much action and adventure going on. All in all, it was a really entertaining read. I think I would have given it 4 stars instead of 3 if it was just a little shorter and had less of the cheesy interactions between characters. It was a fun read and I would recommend it to readers who love suspense novels with a touch of romance.
Synopsis:

From the New York Times bestselling author of How to Walk Away comes a stunning new novel about family, hope, and learning to love against all odds.

Cassie Hanwell was born for emergencies. As one of the only female firefighters in her Texas firehouse, she's seen her fair share of them, and she's excellent at dealing with other people's tragedies. But when her estranged and ailing mother asks her to uproot her life and move to Boston, it's an emergency of a kind Cassie never anticipated.

The tough, old-school Boston firehouse is as different from Cassie's old job as it could possibly be. Hazing, a lack of funding, and poor facilities mean that the firemen aren't exactly thrilled to have a "lady" on the crew, even one as competent and smart as Cassie. Except for the handsome rookie, who doesn't seem to mind having Cassie around. But she can't think about that. Because she doesn't fall in love. And because of the advice her old captain gave her: don't date firefighters. Cassie can feel her resolve slipping...but will she jeopardize her place in a career where she's worked so hard to be taken seriously?

Katherine Center's Things You Save in a Fire is a heartfelt, affecting novel about life, love, and the true meaning of courage.

Review:

It is not too often that I read a book in one to two sittings. Mostly because work and family life keep me pretty busy, but let me tell you... this book was worth putting everything else to the side! I read non-stop and didn't want to put it down until the very last page. And even then, I didn't want it to be over. I'm pretty sure I didn't even pick up another book for several weeks because I just couldn't get my mind off of Things You Save in a Fire. The characters were fantastic, the plot was fast paced and interesting, and the romantic tension was so thick! I just loved every sentence of this novel and I can't recommend it enough!

If you've read How to Walk Away and loved it, you most certainly are going to LOVE this novel also. Even if you didn't read Center's first novel, but you enjoy a good romantic fiction novel, you will eat this up. And if you don't... come back and talk to me because I'll definitely need to figure out what is wrong with you (because obviously it was you and not the book, duh). Just kidding... everyone is entitled to their own opinions, I just won't agree with you if you have anything negative to say about this book! Anyways, as you can tell, I loved it and highly recommend it. So make sure to mark August 13th on your calendars because you HAVE to run out and buy this novel.
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">A laugh-out-loud, realistic portrayal of a freshman year in college for fans of Girls and Broad City.

Getting in is just the beginning.

Phoebe can't wait to get to college. On her own, discovering new things, no curfew . . . she'll be free. And she'll be totally different: cooler, prettier, smarter . . . the perfect potential girlfriend. Convenient: the only person from her high school also going to York is her longtime crush, Luke.

Luke didn't set out to redefine himself, but as soon as he arrives on campus, he finds himself dumping his long-term long-distance girlfriend. And the changes don't stop there. In fact, being on a soccer team is the only thing that stays the same.

Just when things start looking up (and Phoebe and Luke start hooking up), drama looms on the horizon. Rumors swirl about the Wall of Shame, a secret text chain run by Luke's soccer team, filled with compromising photos of girls. As the women on campus determine to expose the team and shut down the account, Luke and Phoebe find themselves grappling with confusing feelings and wondering how they'll ever make it through freshman year.
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">What a fun read! I really enjoyed this entertaining novel and it brought me back to my college days. I thought it was a pretty realistic view of what the college life is like and it was pretty true to what happens in those four years. The characters were well developed and I loved the way the authors switched between voices with ease.
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">All in all, it was entertaining and kept me reading late into the night. It brought back fun memories and I think it was a very relatable novel. Thank you to NetGalley and Delacorte Press for sending this novel in exchange for an honest review!
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">A propulsive new thriller about the obsessive nature of love when an intensifying relationship between best friends is disrupted by a kidnapping.

Growing up as best friends in small-town New Hampshire, Jon and Chloe are the only ones who truly understand each other, though they can never find the words to tell one another the depth of their feelings. When Jon is finally ready to confess his feelings, he's suddenly kidnapped by his substitute teacher who is obsessed with H.P. Lovecraft and has a plot to save humanity.

Mourning the disappearance of Jon and facing the reality he may never return, Chloe tries to navigate the rites of entering young adulthood and "fit in" with the popular crowd, but thoughts of Jon are never far away.

When Jon finally escapes, he discovers he now has an uncontrollable power that endangers anyone he has intense feelings for. He runs away to protect Chloe and find the answers to his new identity--but he's soon being tracked by a detective who is fascinated by a series of vigilante killings that appear connected.

Whisking us on a journey through New England and crashing these characters' lives together in the most unexpected ways, Kepnes explores the complex relationship between love and identity, unrequited passion and obsession, self-preservation and self-destruction, and how the lines are often blurred between the two.
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">Wow! This was definitely not what I was expecting but I loved it! Kepnes kept her typical suspenseful mood but added in a little science fiction intrigue which was really interesting. I loved the twist that the science fiction portion added and thought it really played into the story nicely.
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">The characters were a lot of fun and I felt that their story was captivating and had me turning page after page without stopping for a pause. I love how Kepnes continues to write books that seem to be made for the screen and I really hope this one turns into a movie or show! All in all, it was a fun and entertaining read that I would highly recommend to readers who have loved other works from Kepnes.
